About PWR 360 Foundation
Prevention designed into the systems around children.
PWR 360 Foundation builds brain-science-informed prevention systems for schools, sport organizations and communities across Canada.
What we do
PWR 360 Foundation is building prevention systems for the environments where children spend their days: schools, sport organizations and community programs. Most child protection work begins after harm has already happened. Our work begins earlier, by designing the everyday conditions that make abuse less likely.
That means helping children understand their own boundaries and how to tell an adult, helping the adults around them recognize concerns and act on them, and helping institutions keep protection in place beyond a single leader, a single policy or a single news cycle. We call this public framework Child Architecture™. Our systems are in development, and we publish what is established research, what is professional interpretation, and what is still in development.
Who this is for
PWR 360 works with schools and school districts, sport organizations, coaches and educators, community organizations, and the funders and researchers who support prevention work. We use the word educator broadly: anyone who shapes a child's environment, including teachers, coaches, instructors, volunteers and administrators.
Survivors and families are central to this work. Their knowledge of how institutions fail is the reason our framework starts with prevention rather than reputation, and it is the reason we say plainly what we can and cannot do.
Who builds it
PWR 360 Foundation is a federally incorporated Canadian not-for-profit corporation (Corp. No. 1748875-1), registered extraprovincially in British Columbia (XS0083897). The work is survivor-led.
It is carried by founder and president Shabeka Taylor, a survivor of abuse by educators and of institutional failure, a longtime basketball coach and organizational leader; chief executive officer Ciqaaʔaksup Hoeft, an Indigenous wellness leader, cultural practitioner and child and youth advocate; and brain science translation and learning lead Jennifer Fraser, PhD, author of Teaching Bullies, The Bullied Brain and The Gaslit Brain, who translates research on the brain, bullying and abuse into learning materials and reviews them for scientific accuracy.
PWR 360 is not represented as a registered charity unless that status is separately confirmed.
